The Northwestern College women's tennis team lost to Concordia 9-0 in the opening round of the six-team GPAC Championship played in Fremont, Neb. The loss ends the Raiders season with a 3-11 record while Concordia advances to the semifinals with a 9-6 record.
Kellie Korver (5-9) played the most competitve match for the Raiders, losing in a three-set tie breaker to Colleen Freudenberg, 5-7, 7-5, 8-10. She then teamed with Jessica Pomerenke (5-8) at #2 doubles to lose the closest doubles' match, 5-8, to Kim Francis and Sarah Ebert. Nessa Summers was defeated by Ebert (4-6, 2-6) to even her record at 6-6 at #5 singles.
This is the end of the season for Northwestern.
