The Red Raiders dropped a women's soccer match 4-1 to the MSU-Moorhead Dragons on Saturday morning. Northwestern gave Moorhead the early lead with an own goal but rebounded 33 seconds later to even the score on a Becca Hurley goal. Moorhead kept Northwestern scoreless the rest of the way and netted three more shots to pull away from the Red Raiders. The Dragons out-shot Northwestern 38-14. Kelley Salem made seven saves but allowed four goals. Becca Hurley led Northwestern with seven shots, three on goal, and one goal. Becca Bruns had three shots for Northwestern who fell to 1-3 overall. The Red Raiders will be in action again on Saturday, Sept. 13 when they travel to Fayette, Iowa to take on another NCAA D-II team in Upper Iowa University. Northwestern opens the GPAC season on the 17th of September at Morningside.
