Aug 11 Raiders Bring in 18 Recruits in Rebuilding Effort
Blake Wieking returns for his second season, making him the first women’s soccer coach since 2006 to return for a second consecutive season. Last season, Wieking’s squad went 3-13-1 overall and finished tenth in the GPAC with a 3-8-1 record.


Jun 9 Raiders Sign California Multi-Sports Athlete
Katie O’Keefe (Victorville, Calif.) has signed a letter of intent to continue her track and field and soccer careers at Northwestern College next year.


Jun 7 Colorado Standout to Join Women's Soccer Program
Gretchen Sutherland (Black Forest, Colo.) has signed a letter of intent to continue her soccer career at Northwestern College next fall.


May 27 Raider Soccer Team Signs Two
Alli Dunkelberger (Waconia, Minn.) and Danielle Dowd (Monroe, Iowa) have signed letters of intent to continue their soccer careers at Northwestern College next fall. Dunkelberger also signed a letter of intent to play women’s basketball for the Red Raiders.


May 13 Raiders Sign Midfield Pair
Alyssa Duren (Huntington Beach, Calif.) and Kathryn Fonte (Arvada, Colo.) have signed letters of intent to continue their soccer careers at Northwestern College next fall.


May 5 Raiders Sign Colorado Standout
Meredith Yorchak (Lakewood, Colo.) has signed a letter of intent to continue her soccer and tennis careers at Northwestern College next fall.


Dec 7 Sarah Seeger Earns NAIA Scholar Athlete Honors
Sarah Seeger has earned NAIA Scholar Athlete honors for the second consecutive season. Seeger was also an all-GPAC honorable mention defender for the Raiders this fall. To be awarded the honor, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved junior academic status.


Nov 10 Seeger and Wilcox Earn Honorable Mention Honors
Sarah Seeger and Stephanie Wilcox were named All-GPAC honorable mentions today by the GPAC women's soccer coaches. Seeger are Wilcox are both junior defenders for Northwestern. The Red Raiders finished the 2009 season with a 3-13-1 overall record and they went 3-8-1 in GPAC games.


Oct 30 Northwestern Women's Soccer Takes on Doane in Final Match of 2009
The Red Raiders (3-12-1, 3-7-1) take on the Doane Tigers (8-7-1, 6-4-1) in the final match of the 2009 season in Crete, Nebr. on Saturday night.

Northwestern (3-11-1, 3-6-1) takes on Sioux Falls (8-7-1, 5-4-1) today at Korver Field.


Oct 23 Northwestern Women's Soccer Helps "Rake the Town"
18 members of the Northwestern College women's soccer team will be helping KNWC of Sioux Falls with their "Rake the Town with 96.5" rake-a-thon. Rake the Town is for volenteers to help senior citizens who cannot rake themselves and cannot afford to hire someone.

Northwestern (2-9-1, 2-5-1) takes on Concordia (6-6-2, 4-4) today at Korver Field.


Oct 9 Northwestern Hosts Dana in GPAC Soccer
Northwestern women's soccer will host Dana women's soccer on Saturday, Oct. 10. Northwestern is 1-8-1 on the year while Dana is 6-4-1. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 pm at the soccer complex on Northwestern's campus.


Oct 1 Women's Soccer Drops GPAC Match to Dordt, 4-0
Northwestern dropped a GPAC soccer match to Dordt College on Wednesday afternoon, 4-0, in Sioux Center. Northwestern moves to 1-7-1 overall and 1-3-1 in the GPAC.


Sep 26 Red Raiders Host Prairie Wolves at Korver Field
Northwestern (0-6-1, 0-2-1) takes on Nebraska Wesleyan (3-4-1, 0-2-1) today at DeValois Stadium/Korver Field.


Sep 23 Northwestern Loses to Briar Cliff, 1-0, in Women's Soccer
Northwestern was outshot 28-14 but only gave up one goal in Tuesday afternoon's match with Briar Cliff. The Red Raiders fell to 0-6-1 overall and 0-2-1 in GPAC play.


Sep 18 Northwestern Soccer Travels to Hastings, Nebraska
The Northwestern soccer teams will be traveling to Hastings, Nebraska on Saturday to take on Hastings College in a GPAC women/men soccer doubleheader. The women are looking for their first victory while the men look for their first conference win in 2009.


Sep 16 Northwestern Hosts Morningside College
Northwestern (0-4, 0-0) takes on Morningside (1-3, 0-0) today at Korver Field for the conference opener for both teams. This season, Northwestern has been outshot 85-11 in four matches and hasn’t scored a goal in the 2009 season. Becca Bruns and Katy Phillips lead the team with three shots. Jenni Cantwell has allowed 12 goals in four matches.


Sep 11 Northwestern travels to Simpson College
The Northwestern women's soccer team travels to Indianola to take on Simpson College Friday evening. Northwestern is 0-3 this season and is looking for their first win of the season.


Aug 31 Northwestern Women's Soccer Opens 2009 Season Today
Northwestern women's soccer travels to Omaha, Nebr. to take on College of St. Mary in a 5:00 match. Northwestern was picked to finish 12th in the GPAC by the league's coaches. Head coach Blake Wieking makes his debut tonight, Wieking is a 2008 graduate of Northwestern and played four years on the men's team.
