Northwestern and Dordt to Face Off in Soccer

Northwestern (7-9, 7-3) takes on Dordt (8-6-1, 5-4-1) today in Sioux Center in women's soccer.  The Raiders are currently on a two game skid but head into the match with hopes to qualify for the Region III tournament.  Northwestern must either finish in the top four in the GPAC or earn an at large bid, based on longo points.  The Raiders currently sit at fifth in the standings.

Northwestern is led by Macy Rozeboom, she has nine goals and five assists, both team bests.  Allise Vugteveen and Brittany Osborn both have scored four goals and Jamise Retzlaff has scored two goals for the Raiders.  Retzlaff, Vugteveen, Osborn, and Serah Bugler all have one assist.  Goalkeeper Kelley Salem has made 103 saves this season in 16 games and has a goals against average of 2.29.

Dordt is led by Kate DuMez, she has twelve goals and five assists.  DuMez has scored one third of Dordt's goals this season and has one third of their assists.  Sarah Sikkema, Kirsten Monsma, and Noelle Kreykes each have five goals for the Defenders.  Monsma, Kristi Ouwinga, and Lisa Groen are tied for second in assists with two apiece.  Goalkeeper Rosalyn DePooter has made 49 saves in 15 games and has a goals against average of 1.55.  Dordt is sitting at seventh in the conference and has won three of their last five matches.

Northwestern will have one final regular season match following today's contest, at Midland Lutheran on Saturday, October 27th, at 3:00 p.m.
