Salem Picks Up Third GPAC Shut-Out in 2-0 Win

Northwestern's women's soccer team downed Concordia 2-0 in Orange City on Saturday afternoon.  Northwestern controlled the game throughout, hammering 25 shots to Concordia's eight.  

Northwestern sophomore goalkeeper Kelley Salem picked up her third GPAC shut-out and collected four saves.  Salem has not allowed a goal in a GPAC contest this season.  Serah Bugler and Michelle Power both picked up unassisted goals for the Raiders, both goals were their first on the season.  Macy Rozeboom led the Raiders with 13 shots, Jamise Retzlaff had four shots, Bugler had three, Chelsea Goulet had two, and Amanda Mihaly, Carrie VanderHorst, and Power each had one shot.  

The win puts Northwestern in a tie for first place with Midland Lutheran, both schools are 3-0 in conference play.  Northwestern moves to 3-5 overall and has won three of their last four matches.  Northwestern takes to the road on Wednesday, September 26th, heading to Mitchell, South Dakota to take on Dakota Wesleyan in a 2:00 p.m. match.  DWU enters the match with a 1-8 record and is 0-3 in the GPAC.
