Concordia enters today’s match with a 2-6 overall record and they are 0-2 in the GPAC. The Bulldogs have dropped GPAC contests to Dordt College and Midland Lutheran College; those two teams combine for a 9-1-1 record overall. Concordia is averaging 1.00 goals a game as a team and is led by Carolyn Chrzan and Hannah Denk. The Bulldogs have scored eight goals this season, Chrzan has two goals and five assists, while Denk has three goals and an assist. Bethia Barone and Sarah Hoffmann also have scored for Concordia. Sara Webb has been a consistent starter for Concordia in the net; she has recorded 685:51 minutes in goal, of the 720:00. Webb has made 65 saves and allowed 19 goals. She has also recorded two shut-outs.
On Tuesday, Concordia was defeated by undefeated Midland in a 1-0 contest. Concordia did not allow a goal in the first half but allowed the go-ahead and game winning goal 12:33 into the second half of the match. Webb collected three saves for the Bulldogs, who were out-shot eleven to eight, in the well played match. The Bulldogs will travel to Lincoln, Nebr. for their next GPAC match, on Wednesday, September 26th.
Northwestern enters the game with a 2-5 record overall, and a 2-0 GPAC record. Northwestern has defeated Nebraska Wesleyan and Mount Marty in conference play. Tuesday the Red Raiders defeated Mount Marty 6-0, behind a shut-out and the highest goal output of the season. Northwestern got a hat-trick and an assist from Macy Rozeboom, two goals from Allise Vugteveen, a goal from Brittany Osborn, and an assist from Serah Bugler. Goalkeeper Kelley Salem pitched her second shut-out in conference play, recording five saves. The Raiders put on a show offensively, recording 24 shots on goal and 36 shots overall. Northwestern scored three goals within the first eight minutes of the match. Northwestern plays at Dakota Wesleyan on September 26th and home versus the University of Sioux Falls on October 2nd, in their next two matches. Both contests will be GPAC matches.
