Nebraska Wesleyan enters the game with a 1-3 overall record and a 0-1 GPAC record after falling to Morningside last Wednesday, 3-2. Nebraska Wesleyan, while being 1-3, has out-shot their opponents 59-37 and has outscored their opponents 11-6.
The Prairie Wolves feature a balanced attack that has produced nine different goal scorers, only Alison Frohn and Liz Baltzell have multiple goals, both with two. Goalkeeper Jessica Cain has registered 15 saves in four games and collected one shut-out win for her efforts versus the University of Dallas.
On Saturday, Nebraska Wesleyan fell to College of St. Benedict by the score of 2-1, their third one goal loss of the young season. The Prairie Wolves were victims of an own goal that tied the game at 1-1 after NWU held the lead 1-0. College of St. Benedict got the game winning goal in the 80th minute and held on for the victory. Brooke Woodward had four shots to lead NWU.
Northwestern enters the game with a 0-4 record overall, this will be the Raiders first GPAC contest of the season. The Raiders dropped two games on Saturday, August 25th to #14 Trinity International and Jamestown College by the scores for 1-3 and 0-3 respectively. Northwestern, after nearly a two week layoff, headed to Michigan to play in the Step One-Soccer Too Cougar Classic. The Red Raiders faced Spring Arbor Friday, in game one, and lost 8-0 then faced Cornerstone on Saturday, losing 5-0.
Northwestern faces Bellevue on Saturday, September 15th, in non-conference action in Orange City, game time is set for 6:00 p.m. Next week the Raiders take on Mount Marty and Concordia, as the conference season starts to heat up.
