UNO Open

Lamar Reed (Soph, Tarzana, Cali.) placed in the top eight at the prestigious UNO Open for the second straight year, claiming 5th place, going 4-2 on the day. “Lamar is a very athletically gifted young man who has not yet discovered his full potential.  He placed in the top eight and did not wrestle at the highest level that he is capable of; when he does, watch out nation,” said head wrestling coach John Petty.

"We knew going in that this would be a big challenge both mentally and physically for our squad.  I hope that we now know we can compete with anyone.  I saw some of our guys competing hard at times; either physically and some mentally," said Petty.  "We need to put the two together and push ourselves in order to push our opponents."

"Overall, it was a good experience and should help us as we prepare for the remainder of the season," said Petty.

Northwestern will take the mat again at the 1st Annual NWC Open on December 1, 2007.  The meet will start at 10:00 a.m. and will be in the Rowenhorst Student Center.
