Northwestern wrestler Lamar Reed is a co-GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Wrestler-of-the-Week. Reed, a sophomore from Tarzana, California, posted a 2-0 dual record and 4-0 tournament record for the Red Raiders. For the week he posted a dual win over Ryan Tuzon of Dana, ranked 5th in the NAIA, and won two matches by pin (under 2:00 minutes) in winning his weight class at the Briar Cliff Invite. Reed is undefeated in GPAC matches this season. Reed shares the award with Brandon Hudiburgh, 197 lbs., of Hastings.
Northwestern finished their dual season last night defeating Briar Cliff 35-15, ending with a final record of 8-7 and 3-3 in the GPAC. The Northwestern wrestlers will next take the mat on Feb. 16th at the GPAC Championships.
