Northwestern Sends School Record Nine Wrestlers to Nationals Nine members of Northwestern's wrestling team will be competing at the NAIA National Championships in Oklahoma City this weekend, starting tomorrow at 9:00 am. The Red Raiders tied a school record for individuals that qualified for the Championships, with nine.

Northwestern Alumni Wrestle in Alumni Dual What a weird place to put an alumni match! We were unable to get it in earlier in the year, and I had many alumni begging for a chance to get on the mat, so we felt we wanted to put something together. At this time in the year, I did not want the stress of making weight and another “dual” as we rested for the Qualifier next week, but I still wanted the guys to be sharp in their preparation and have some type of competitive simulation, so we asked the “old-timers” to come back and throw down.

Seven Northwestern Wrestlers Earn All-GPAC Honors Seven Northwestern wrestlers have earned All-GPAC honors, including Levi Price, Brian Heiberger, and Nic Leither, who all won a GPAC Championship at the GPAC Championships. Jerod Flores, David Carter, Brad Hughes, and Luke Evjen all earned Second Team honors.

Levi Price sets new school record for wins in a career Senior wrestler Levi Price set the school record for wrestling wins in a career, capturing his 111th win in a 8-2 decision over Justin Truckenmiller of Morningside this past Saturday. Price finished 8th in the 2008 National Championships and was named an All-American that season. Last season he won the GPAC championship at 149 lbs. and he is currently ranked 7th in the NAIA.

Northwestern Wrestlers Travel to GPAC Championships Saturday Northwestern's wrestling team will participate in the 2009-2010 GPAC Wrestling Championships on Saturday, hosted by Morningside College. Northwestern has two reigning GPAC champions in Levi Price at 149 lbs. and Nicholas Leither at 197 lbs.

Northwestern Falls to #19 in Latest NAIA Poll The Red Raiders fell to #19 in the latest NAIA poll released Tuesday, Jan. 19. Northwestern is ranked behind Dana (10) and Morningside (16) in the GPAC and just ahead of Dakota Wesleyan (20). The Red Raiders defeated Concordia last night 30-22 in a GPAC dual in Seward, Nebr.

Levi Price finished as the runner-up while Jerod Flores and Brad Hughes both won their consolation matches.

Northwestern Takes on Waldorf and Sioux Falls in Double Dual Northwestern, Sioux Falls, and Waldorf will be competing today in a double dual. The final dual of the day between Northwestern and Sioux Falls will be a GPAC dual. Waldorf and Sioux Falls wrestle at 4:00 pm, Northwestern and Waldorf follow at 5:30 pm, and Northwestern and Sioux Falls wrestle a GPAC dual at 7:00 pm.

Northwestern Takes on NCAA D2 #7 Augustana in Dual Tonight Northwestern's wrestling team travels to Sioux Falls, S.D. tonight to face a NCAA D2 top ten team in Augustana. The dual is scheduled to start at 7:00 pm. The Red Raiders are 0-1 in dual competitions this season while Augustana is 1-1.

Leither Moves Up to #3 in Latest NAIA Rankings Northwestern College remains #18 in the newest NAIA Rankings despite Nic Leither and Levi Price’s rise in the polls. Notre Dame College (Ohio) remained at No. 1 in the second edition of the NAIA Wrestling Coaches' Top 20 Poll, the NAIA announced Tuesday. Northwestern increased its points from 12.5 in the November 24th poll to 19 and closed the gap between itself and some other top programs.

Northwestern Wrestling Double Dual Canceled The Northwestern wrestling team has announced that their double dual with Morningside and Buena Vista has been postponed, a date for a make-up has not been announced. The Raiders will next be in action versus Augustana on Dec. 11th.

Raiders Finish Fifth at Simpson Invitational Northwestern traveled to Simpson for the Simpson College Invitational on Saturday. The Red Raiders had six wrestlers place in the top 8 and finished tied for fifth in the team standings. David Carter became the seventh Raider to qualify for the National Championships, finishing fourth.

Northwestern Hosts First Dual of 2009-10 Wrestling Season Tonight is the first dual of the season for the Northwestern wrestling team, it is also the first dual of the season for Grand View. The Red Raiders have competed in three Open tournaments this season, the Yellowjacket Open (for freshman/sophomores), the DWU Open, and the Augsburg Open.

Northwestern Competes at Augsburg College Northwestern's wrestling team took the mat on Saturday at the Auggie-Brute-Adidas Open on Saturday in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Raider wrestlers had a record of 16-25 and eight wrestlers placed 8th or better in their weight class.
