Northwestern Names Rik Dahl Head Wrestling Coach Rik Dahl has been named Northwestern College’s new head wrestling coach, the seventh since wrestling became a varsity sport at the school in 1969. Dahl will replace John Petty, the Raider skipper the past two seasons.

Four Earn All-American Honors at NAIA Wrestling Championships Two Red Raider wrestlers earned All-American honors at the 2008 NAIA Wrestling Championships held at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa. Levi Price, a junior from Cannon Falls, Minn., and Enock Francois, a junior from Lake Park, Fla., finished in the top six in their respective weight classes and earned NAIA All-American honors. Tom Eaton, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and DJ Jackson, District Heights, Md., also earned All-American Honorable Mention honors.

Red Raiders Set To Compete at NAIA Wrestling National Championships The Red Raider wrestling team will begin competition at the 2008 NAIA National Championship this Thursday evening at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa. The championships will take place over a three day span and will conclude with the championships and final matches on Saturday night, March 8.

NAIA Announces Unofficial Wrestling Brackets The NAIA has posted the unofficial brackets for the 51st Annual NAIA Wrestling Championships in Sioux City, Iowa. The official brackets will be released following a weigh-in by the athletes.

Price, Francois Win Regional Wrestling Championships wo Red Raider grapplers were crowned regional champions this past weekend at the region III championships hosted by Dana College in Blair, Neb. Levi Price (149) and Enock Francois (174) won their respective weight classes to take home the title. Price went a perfect 5-0 on the day and defeated Andrew Hare of Hastings College, 2-1, in the championship match. Francois went 3-0 and defeated teammate Tom Eaton, 7-4, in the championship match. Eaton finished with a 2-1 record and a second place finish.

Northwestern to Wrestle at NAIA North Region Championships Northwestern wrestlers will head to Blair, Neb. for the NAIA North Region Championships tomorrow. Northwestern enters the Championships ranked 12th in the NAIA. Overall, five North Region teams are ranked in the top 20: Dickinson State 3rd, Dana 6th, Northwestern 12th, Morningside 15th, and Jamestown 20th.

Price and Francois Headline Raider All-GPAC Wrestlers Northwestern's wrestling team had six athletes earn All-GPAC honors this season. Levi Price and Enock Francois were both named to the first team, after winning a GPAC Championship last weekend. DJ Jackson, Lamar Reed, and Tom Eaton were named to the second team, and Cole Spree picked up honorable mention honors.

Tom Eaton Jr. featured in Sioux City Journal Tom Eaton Jr, a junior from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, was recently featured on the front of the Sioux City Journal. Eaton, a former marine, is currently a national qualifier for the Northwestern wrestling team.

Northwestern Finishes Third, Francois and Price Named GPAC Champions Northwestern finished third at the GPAC Championships with 77 points and were led by GPAC Champions Enock Francois and Levi Price. Northwestern also had three wrestlers finish in second and one third.

Head Wrestling Coach John Petty Resigns Head Wrestling Coach John Petty has resigned his position at Northwestern College effective after the NAIA championships, which will be held on March 6-8 in Sioux City, Iowa. Coach Petty will become the head coach of a first-year wrestling program at California Baptist University in Riverside, Calif.
