Red Raiders Face Nebraska Wesleyan

Game Time...Northwestern College heads to Lincoln, Neb. to play its old GPAC foe, Nebraska Wesleyan, on Saturday, March 17 at 10am. 

Northwestern owns a 2-2 record this season and Nebraska Wesleyan is 3-13 overall, 1-7 in its first year in the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

All-Time...The Red Raiders are 6-13 all-time against Nebraska Wesleyan, 2-3 over the last five matches. Last year, Northwestern lost 8-1 to the Prairie Wolves.

Scouting Reports...

   Nebraska Wesleyan: 3-13 (1-7 in IIAC)  Head Coach: Rick Harley (14th year)

Making the jump to the NCAA D-III ranks, Nebraska Wesleyan finished just 1-7 in the IIAC, 3-13 overall. They are 2-5 this spring, playing all non-conference matches. Most recently, the Prairie Wolves are 1-2, defeating St. John Fischer (7-2) and losing to Baldwin-Wallace (7-2) and Roanoke (8-1).

Dr. Rick Harley is in his 14th overall season as the head of the NWU women's tennis program and first without men's tennis coaching duties. Harley returns four players from a 2016 team that went 7-1 in the GPAC, 13-11 overall, losing to Morningside in the GPAC Championship.

Bridget McKeegan is one of the top returning players, earning all-conference in both singles and doubles play last year. She is 9-11 at the #1 singles spot this season and is a combined 7-13 in doubles. Jaime Bridges earned all-conference recognition in singles last year and is 8-13 this season. Torey Kogel owns a 7-12 record, playing mainly at the No.2 spot.

The Red Raiders have not played since a 6-3 loss to St. Benedict played Feb. 17 in Sioux Falls, S.D. They are 2-2 this season, with another loss to Bethel (Minn.) and wins over Buena Vista and Bethany Lutheran.
