Raiders Host #17 Hastings in Women's Soccer

Northwestern (6-8-2, 4-2-2) hosts #17 Hastings (12-2-1, 7-0) on homecoming Saturday in a 6:15pm match at the NWC Soccer Complex. Northwestern is tied for third place while Hastings is in sole possession of first place. The Red Raiders have one loss in their last eight matches and they have made four consecutive shut-outs. Hastings in currently on a 12 game winning streak, including all seven of their GPAC matches.

Scouting Hastings:

The Broncos have out-scored opponents 41-12 this year and have out-shot opponents 262-152 overall and 142-89 in shots on goal. Taylor Geis leads the team with 13 goals scored and is tied for second with six assists. Kelsey Nealon has scored 12 goals and is tied with Geis for second on the team with six assists. Megan Kruse leads Hastings with ten assists, she has also scored eight goals and is third on the team. Emily Arrigo has scored five goals and has made three assists, both fourth best for the Bronco attack.

Mallory Taylor has allowed nine goals and made 62 saves in 12 starts. Taylor has made six shutouts this season. Anna Stewart has made three starts and made 14 saves while allowing three goals.

Scouting Northwestern:

The Red Raiders have been out-scored 32-25 this season and have been out-shot 269-209 and 140-110 in shots on goal. Tyler Farr leads the team with 13 goals scored and is tied for the lead with five assists. Mattie Ostrowski has made five assists, to tie with Farr for the team lead, and has scored two goals on the year. Jahdai Dunk has scored three goals and has made three assists. Madison Bertman has also scored three goals this season and has made two assists.

Naomi Schimmel has made 11 starts and has allowed 16 goals while making 60 saves. She has picked up four shut-outs this season. Jennifer Inge has made five starts and has allowed 16 goals and made 48 saves. Inge has one shut-out this season.

Northwestern wraps up the regular season on Oct. 29th at Morningside. The top four finishers host opening round matches in the GPAC tournament.
