Red Raiders Host Midland in GPAC Opener

Northwestern (1-6) and Midland (6-1) open the GPAC schedule on Saturday afternoon in Orange City at the NWC Soccer Complex. The Red Raiders have dropped their last four matches and the Warriors have won their last six matches.

Scouting Midland

Midland has won their last six matches since a season opening loss to Grand View. The Warriors have out-scored their opponents 16-7 this season but have been out-shot 113-96. Midland, however, has made more shots on goal leading their opponents 55-46. Individually, Caitlin Cooney leads the attack with seven goals scored and is third in the GPAC. Regan Jones, Cassie Cattabiani, and Amanda Nutsch have each scored twice. Cattabiani and Erica Hall both have made two assists to pace the offense.

Megan Manley has started seven games in goal and have made 39 saves while allowing seven goals. She currently has registered two shut-outs and has a goals against average of 1.020.

Scouting Northwestern

The Red Raiders are on a four game skid entering the GPAC schedule. They have been out-scored 21-8 this season and have been out-shot 124-69 and 68-34 in shots on goal. Tyler Farr has scored five of NWC's goals with Jahdai Dunk, Madison Bertman, and Rachel Connelly have also scored this season. Mattie Ostrowski leads the Red Raiders with three assists. Bertman has made two assists this season and is second to Farr with four points.

Jennifer Inge and Naomi Schimmel have both made starts in goal this season. Inge has made four starts and has 34 saves while allowing 14 goals in four starts while Schimmel has made 13 saves and has allowed seven goals in three starts.
