Northwestern (8-6-2, 5-2-1) and Hastings (10-4-1, 6-1) face each other today in a key matchup in the GPAC standings. The Broncos are currently receiving votes in the national poll and are second in the GPAC while the Raiders are currently in third place.
NWC hasn't lost in their last six matches and have five shutouts in a row defensively. The Raiders have out-scored their opponents 21-17 this season despite being out shot 241-225. Alissa Christoffer has made four goals and leads the team. Jahdai Dunk and Alyssa Duren have each scored three goals this season while Tyler Farr, Jo Jensen, and Jessica VanderBaan each have scored twice. Farr and Jensen lead the team with three assists.
Ariel Watts has made 107 saves in goal and has allowed 17 goals. She currently has a goals against average of 1.04 to go with eight total shut-outs this season.
Hastings hasn't lost in their last seven matches and has been pounding teams offensively this season. They have scored 47 goals and taken 357 shots while only allowing 22 goals and 125 shots. Amanda Olson has scored 13 goals to pace the offense while Megan Kruse has scored 11 goals. Kelsey Nealon has made eight goals and leads the team with eight assists as well. Kruse is second on the team with seven assists.
Brittany Toth has made 40 saves in goal and has allowed 15 goals for a 1.32 goals against average. She currently has one shut-out this season.
Northwestern will wrap up the season on Oct. 30 at home against Morningside.
