Christensen Holds Lead After First Round of NCDC Invite

Northwestern College is in second place after day one of the two-day, 36-hole NC/DC Invite played today at the Landsmeer Golf Club.

The Red Raiders shot a season-best score for the second consecutive meet, coming in with a 340, one better than last week's round at the Morningside Invite. Northwestern is just four strokes behind first round leader Briar Cliff with a 336. Morningside (354) and Briar Cliff JV (359) are the next two scores.

Mikayla Christensen is the leader after the first 18 holes with an 83, one shy of her season best. The junior holds a one shot lead over five golfers, including her teammate, Anna Perrenoud, all with an 84. Chanda Zomermaand is tied for eighth at 85, followed by Courtney Hummel (T12-88) and Jamie Altena (T21-94).
