Northwestern College finished fifth at the two-day CSM/Midland Invite that concluded today at the Miracle Hill Golf Club in Omaha, Neb.
In fifth place after the first round, the Red Raiders held their spot, closing with a 357 for a 36-hole total of 720 (363/357). They finished nine strokes in front of Dordt and were 26 shots in back of fourth place Peru State.
Morningside won the meet with a two-day total of 674 (348/326), followed by Briar Cliff with a 683.
Chanda Zomermaand was the top finisher for the Red Raider for the second straight meet, closing with an 84 after an opening round score of 94. The freshman placed 19th out of 80+ golfers. Courtney Hummel tied for 20th and finished one stroke back with a 179 (89/90) while Anna Perrenoud and Jamie Altena tied for 27th with a 183. Mikayla Christensen rounds out the Northwestern scores with a 187 (97/90) and tied for 32nd.
Northwestern will compete in the first 36 holes of the GPAC Championship on Oct. 3-4.
