All-Time...Tuesday night's game will be the 71st match-up between Northwestern and the Mustangs. The Red Raiders trail the series 28-42 and are 4-6 over the last 10 match-ups. Northwestern went 2-1 against Morningside last year, splitting the two regular season showdowns and then defeating them in the GPAC Championship.

Scouting Morningside...Ranked second in the NAIA D-II preseason coaches' poll, Morningside is off to a 3-0 in the conference play and a perfect 9-0 overall. The GPAC preseason favorite has defeated three ranked teams in league play, knocking off Concordia, Midland and Hastings.

Jamie Sale is in his 14th year as the Mustangs' head coach and has guided his teams to 12 straight NAIA D-II postseason tournaments, winning three (2004, 05, 09). Sale is the winningest coach in the program's history, owning 350 wins and a winning percentage of 77%. He returns four starters and eight players off last year's team that was co-regular season champions (with Northwestern, Concordia and Hastings) and lost in the national quarterfinals to end with a 29-7 overall record.

Morningside is scoring 79 points per game and is the top shooting team in the conference at 46%. They lead the conference in steals and forced turnovers (28) while giving up only 54 points per game.

Senior post Ashlynn Muhl returns after earning all-conference honors the last two years and averages 12 points and nine rebounds per game. Sophomore Taylor Bahensky scores a team-best 13.8 points per game and ranks fifth in the NAIA with 30 steals. Madison Braun leads the team with 18 three-pointers, scoring 10 points per game.

Northwestern News and Notes...The Red Raiders won both games played last weekend at the Northwestern Classic, defeating Dakota State and Roosevelt. They improved to 4-3 in the GPAC and are 0-2 in conference play, losing to Doane and #5 Hastings at home.

Northwestern ranks third in the GPAC in scoring, averaging just under 80 points per game. They also rank third in the conference in field goal percentage (45%) and three-point percentage (35%). The Red Raiders own a +7 advantage on the boards, fourth best in the league, and are giving up 67 points per game.

Karen Ettleman leads the GPAC in scoring, averaging 25 points per game. The senior All-American pulls down a team-best 5.7 rebounds per game and is sixth in the GPAC with 19 steals. Paige O'Neal scores nine points per game and is second in the conference with 38 assists. Renee Maneman scores eight points per game and Arianne Gesell chips in 7.6 points and five boards per contest.
