All-Time...Northwestern leads the all-time series 17-12 and has won 7 of the last 8 match-ups against Dakota State. 

Scouting Dakota State...The Lady T's are 3-4 this season, recording wins over Presentation (S.D.) and Midland (Neb.) to start the year before a four-game losing streak ensued. Last time out, they defeated Trinity Bible 91-37 last Saturday, Nov. 16. Dakota State has three losses to GPAC teams; Hastings, Dakota Wesleyan and Mount Marty.

Jeff Dittman is in his second season back as the Dakota State head coach, having served in the same role for 15 years (1993-2008). He also served as the head coach for Hastings, leading the Broncos to the national semifinals in two of his four years. Dittman returns eight players and three starters off a 2012-13 team that finished 0-8 in conference play, 6-20 overall. They were picked fourth out of five teams in the North Star Athletic League preseason poll. 

Dakota State averages 68 points per game, shooting 44% from the field and 34% from the three-point arc. Senior Kylie Westover is the lone player scoring in double figures, averaging 11.6 points per game. An all-conference selection last year, Westover reached the 1,000-point milestone earlier this year and ranks third all-time in three-pointers. She is shooting 36% from beyond the arc with a team-high 14 three-pointers this season. Rabenberg scores 8.7 points per game and is shooting over 50% from the field. Cassie Jacobsen averages 8.1 points and 4.4 rebounds per game while shooting 45% from the field. Alyson Drooger averages nearly six points per game and ranks 11th in the NAIA with 12 blocked shots.

Northwestern News and Notes...The Red Raiders are off to a 6-0 start, recording wins over three ranked teams; Jamestown, Valley City State and Briar Cliff.  Northwestern was seventh in the NAIA coaches' preseason poll, one of four GPAC teams in the top 25. They were picked third in the GPAC preseason poll. 

Northwestern is averaging 101 points per game, shooting 48% from the field, among the NAIA’s best in both categories. They have made 32 three-pointers in the three games, shooting 31% from beyond the arc. Defensively, Northwestern is giving up 62 points per game while holding teams to 31% from the field. They have a +20 advantage on the boards. 

Alli Engebretson is one of three Red Raiders scoring in double figures, putting in a GPAC-best 20.5 points per game. The senior guard leads the team with 21 three-pointers, shooting 44% from beyond the arc. Karen Hutson averages 20 points per game, shooting a GPAC-best 62% from the field. Samantha Kleinsasser averages 14.2 points and a team-best nine rebounds per game, recording four double-doubles this season. Cassidy Breon (9.0) and Mackenzie Small (8.8) are the other top scorers.
