The Northwestern College women's golf team opened their 2008 fall season with a third and fourth place finish at the USF Fall Invitational held at the Elmwood Golf Course in Sioux Falls, S.D. The Red Raider red team finished with a score of 357, good for third place, while the white team placed fourth with a 361. USF won the meet with a 329, followed by Dakota Wesleyan with a 331. Hastings (376) and Morningside (383) placed fifth and sixth, respectively.

Leading the way for Coach Hoftyzer's squad were sophomore Maggie Achterhof and senior Kara Ritchie. Both players shot an 87 and finished tied for eighth. Seniors Carrie Spree and Kelsey Shiflett tied for 11th with an 88 while Rachelle Pedersen carded an 89 and placed 16th.

The Red Raiders will host their fall meet tomorrow (Thursday, Aug. 28) at Landsmeer Golf Club. The shotgun start will be at 12:30 pm.
