The Northwestern College women's golf team was crowned co-champions at the USF Women's Golf Spring Invitational played in Sioux Falls, S.D. Coach Hoftyzer's squad shot a team total of 351 and tied with Hastings for the team championship. USF finished third with a 357 followed by Dakota Wesleyan (360) and Nebraska Wesleyan (404).
Northwestern had three golfers place in the top 10, led by Maggie Achterhof with a fifth place finish with an 85. Melissa Hisel tied for sixth, shooting an 86 and Paige Kleinwolterink shot an 88 and tied for eighth. Carrie Spree (92), Rachael Koenigsberg (98) and Anne Eberline (95) also competed at the meet for the Red Raiders.
The Red Raiders will next compete at the Briar Cliff Invite on Thursday, April 24 before heading to the regional tournament on April 28-29 at Elmwood in Sioux Falls, S.D.
