Four Red Raiders were named 2009 NAIA Women's Golf Scholar Athlete as released by the NAIA earlier this week. Lisa Wiersma, Kelsey Shiflett, Anne Eberline and Rachelle Pedersen all earned the academic honor. Nominated by each institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a 
minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved junior academic status to qualify.
Shiflett and Wiersema, both seniors, earned the honor for the second straight year, as did Eberline, who is a junior athletic eligibility-wise. Shiflett is a senior business major from Humboldt, Wiersema is a english education major from Orange City, Iowa and Eberline is a writing/rhetoric major from Grundy Center, Iowa. Pedersen, a junior from Nora Springs, Iowa, earns the honor for the 
first time and is a biology/health professions major.
