The Raiders shot a season-best 68% from beyond the arc and made a season-high 15 three-pointers in their 95-72 win over William Penn in non-conference women's basketball action Friday night. Northwestern improved to 10-2 this season. Six different players made at least one three-pointer for NWC, led by both Becca Hurley and Val Kleinjan with four. Kleinjan led four NWC players in double figures with 17 points, followed by Hurley with 16. Kami Kuhlmann netted 14 points, including a trio of three-pointers. Allison Hulst added 11 and pulled down a team-high seven rebounds. Northwestern dished out a team-best 25 assists, led by Katie Nieuwsma and Kendra DeJong with five each. Northwestern scored 11 straight points early in the first half to turn a 15-15 tie into a 26-15 lead. A barrage of three-pointers highlighted the run sandwiched by a pair of baskets by Allison Hulst. The Raiders led by as much as 18 late in the first half after a short jumper by Hurley. The Raider defense limited William Penn to just 32% from the floor, including 24% in the first half.
