KamiKami Kuhlmann scored a career-high 26 points and Becca Hurley netted 20 in the Raiders 72-57 win over MidAmerica Nazarene in the Pizza Ranch Women's Basketball Classic hosted by Northwestern College. The Red Raiders, ranked second in the NAIA preseason coaches poll, improve to 4-1 this season.

The lead switched hands several times early on until an 11-5 run put MidAmerica Nazarene up 17-13. Northwestern responded with a 17-5 run of its own to pull ahead 30-22 with just minute to go in the first half. They led 35-26 at the half.

Northwestern came out and scored the first 14 points of the second half to push the lead up to over 20. The Pioneers managed to cut it to 10 (59-49) but the Raiders held off the rally and went on to earn their third straight win.

Kuhlmann went 9-for-18 from the floor, 2-of-4 from beyond the arc and a perfect 6-for-6 from the foul line to lead NWC with a career-high 26 points. Hurley added 20 points and in doing so, became the 23rd player in the history of the program to score 1,000 points. She reached the milestone with a lay-up at the 11:35 mark in the first half. Hurley added Hurleyeight rebounds and five assists. Kendra DeJong scored 12 points and pulled down seven boards. Northwestern dominated the glass, 38-20, led by freshmen Thea Engen with nine.

Northwestern will open conference play at home on Saturday, Nov. 21 against Doane at 2:00 pm.
