The Northwestern College women's basketball team lost to Dakota State Friday night 85-81 at the Tyson Tipoff Classic in the season debut for both teams. Coach Woudstra's squad will play Mayville State tomorrow night in their final game of the Classic.

The Red Raiders led by 10, 41-31, at intermission but were outscored 54-40 in the second half. Northwestern shot 47% from the floor compared to 53% by the Lady T's, 57% in the second half. Four players scored in double figures for NWC, led by sophomore guard Kristin Neth with 20 points and nine rebounds. Neth went 6-of-12 from the field, converted 2-of-6 three point attempts and made 6-of-9 free throws. Kami Kuhlmann scored 19 points in her collegiate debut. The freshman from Charter Oak also grabbed five rebounds and dished out two assists. Val Kleinjan and Andrea Wedel scored 14 and 11 points, respectively. Coach Woudstra's squad held a slim 34-32 advantage on the boards and committed one fewer turnover (27-26) then Dakota State.

NWC will continue play tomorrow night against Mayville State at 6:00 pm in the Tyson Tipoff Classic.
