Shelby Johnson (Akron, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue her basketball career at Northwestern College. Johnson is a 5’8” guard who lettered four years while playing for Akron-Westfield High School. She earned first team all-War Eagle Conference Honors after averaging 13.8 points, 6.7 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game her senior year. Johnson also earned all-District accolades as she helped lead her team to a 16-7 record. A member of the National Honor Society and class valedictorian, Johnson plans to major in mathematics at Northwestern. She is the daughter of Kent and Kathy.
“Shelby is a well-rounded student-athlete who has excelled in multiple sports in high school as well as in the classroom,” commented Head Coach Earl Woudstra. “She is a very intelligent player who does a great job of seeing the floor and finding open teammates. We are excited to have Shelby join us at Northwestern and look forward to the contributions she will make to our athletic programs and to the Northwestern campus.”
