Remmerde, Larson Earn WBCA/State Farm Coaches' All-American Honors

Mar 26, 2008

Debbie Remmerde (Rock Valley, Iowa) and Amy Larson (Denison, Iowa) earned NAIA State Farm Coaches' All-American basketball honors. This year's team marks the first State Farm Coaches' All-America Team, as Eastman Kodak held the previous sponsorship for the last 25 years. Selection committees in each of the six WBCA geographical regions select 10 of the top women's basketball players in the nation to be honored. Remmerde, who earned the same honor the last three seasons under the Kodak sponsorship, is a four-time recipient of the award. Larson, who earned honorable mention All-American honors, is named for the first time in her career.

Remmerde led the NAIA in several offensive categories this season, including scoring (30.3), three pointers (138), three point percentage (55%) and free throw percentage (97%). She finishes her career as the all-time leading scorer in NAIA D-II history with 3,854 points. Larson averaged 17.5ppg and shot 45% from beyond the arc. She ended the season with 110 three pointers and closed her career with over 1,000 points.

Both Remmerde and Larson were members of a Red Raider team that finished the 2008 season as the NAIA D-II Women's Basketball National Champions with a 35-2 overall record.
