Red Raiders Earn One of the Top Seeds in NAIA Women's Basketball Championship

The 2008 NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship bracket has been released and the Northwestern College Red Raiders earned one of four top seeds in the 32-team tournament field. The Red Raiders, the GPAC Tournament Champions, will play eighth seed Holy Names (Calif.), the California Pacific Conference Champion, on Thursday night, March 13, at 7:30 pm. Coach Woudstra's squad is making their third consecutive trip to the national tournament, seventh overall, and carries a 30-2 overall record into the tournament. Holy Names is 19-13 and received votes in the final NAIA poll.

Northwestern is one of four GPAC teams in the 32-team field, all of which are seeded in the top four. Morningside, the GPAC regular season champion, is also a top seed while Hastings is a second seed and Concordia is third.
