The Red Raiders won their sixth straight game as they rolled to a 105-57 victory over Midland Lutheran College on Monday night. Northwestern improved to 18-1 overall, 8-0 in the GPAC while the Warriors fall to 2-8 in the league, 7-13 overall.
Northwestern started fast as they led 10-1 in the opening minutes before a 5-0 Warrior run cut the lead to 10-6. Coach Woudstra's squad scored the next 13 points to take command and never looked back as they led 55-23 at halftime. They continued to excel in the second half as they increased their lead to 95-40 with over seven minutes left to play.
The Red Raiders shot 57% from the field compared to 32% for the visiting Warriors. Debbie Remmerde led four Red Raider players in double figures with 29 points. Becca Hurley came off the bench and tied her career high with 18 points. Amy Larson (16) and Randa Hulstein (15) were also in double figures. Northwestern dominated the glass as well, 53-29, led by Crystal Algood with 12 boards. Randa Hulstein and tied their career highs with eight and six rebounds, respectively. Miranda Boekhout dished out a game-high 11 assists and also recorded three steals and two blocked shots.
Midland Lutheran was led by Marcy Hauschild with 14 points while Karmen Jericevic added 12.
Northwestern will next host Mount Marty as part of a GPAC doubleheader on Wednesday, Jan. 23 at 6/8:00 p.m.
