The Northwestern College volleyball team swept a pair of road matches this weekend and remain undefeated in GPAC play (8-0). The Red Raiders defeated Dakota Wesleyan Friday night, 3-0 (25-18,25-19,25-12) and then knocked off Nebraska Wesleyan in Lincoln, Neb., 3-1 (25-23,15-25,25-22,25-18). Coach Van Den Bosch's squad remains in first place in the GPAC and improve to 17-6 overall. The Red Raiders hit .163 in their 3-0 win over Dakota Wesleyan but limited the host Tigers to -.060 for the match. Northwestern compiled 23 total blocks against the Tigers, led by Randa Hulstein with eight and Bobbie jean Rich with five. Hulstein and Hillary Hanno posted double figures in kills with 11 and 10, respectively. Hulstein hit .476 for the match. Kaitlin Beaver lofted up 27 assists, eight digs and two ace serves. Northwestern registered a season-high 66 kills in their 3-1 win over Nebraska Wesleyan. Hanno led the way with a season-high 22 kills and hit .340 for the match. Randa Hulstein totaled 21 kills, just one off her season-high of 22, and four blocks. Kate Buyert was also in double figures with 14 kills and a team-best .538 attack percentage. Beaver recorded a season-high 55 assists in the win while Janna Bloemendaal and Rylee Hulstein led the defense with 21 and 19 digs, respectively. The Red Raiders have won six straight matches and will play Mount Marty in Yankton, S.D. on Oct. 15 for their only match of the week.
