Melannie Babcock (Orange City, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue her volleyball and basketball careers at Northwestern College next fall.

MelannieBabcock is a 6’0” middle hitter who lettered three years for MOC-Floyd Valley High School. She recorded 399 kills, 104 blocks and 37 digs as she helped lead her team to a 20-14 overall record. Babcock also totaled 132 digs and earned third team all-state honors. She was named to the Des Moines Register All-State First Team and earned first team all-Siouxland Conference accolades. A member of the National Honor Society, Babcock plans to major in physical education or art education at Northwestern. She is the daughter of Marv and Debby.

“Melannie is a fantastic athlete who has a passion for the game of volleyball,” commented Head Volleyball Coach Kyle Van Den Bosch. “She has great quickness and explosiveness at the net and can play a number of different positions on the court. We are excited to have Melannie join our volleyball family.”
