Northwestern College sophomore Lauryn Hilger claimed NAIA All-American honors as announced by the national office earlier today.
Hilger ranked third in the GPAC in kills per game, averaging nearly four per set, while hitting .223 as one of the team's middle hitters. Hilger, who also earned first team all-conference honors, was second on the team with 2.45 digs and served 28 aces. She posted 29 matches with 10+ kills and had 10 double-doubles (kill/digs) on the year.
Hilger is the 38th All-American in the history of the Red Raider volleyball program and the 21st under head coach Kyle Van Den Bosch.
Northwestern finished the 2016 season with an 18-17 overall record, 10-6 in GPAC play.
