The Red Raiders lost to second-seed California Baptist, 3-0, in the quarterfinal round of the 2007 NAIA Volleyball National Championship. With the loss, they close the season with a 31-12 record.
Northwestern held a slim lead in game one, 14-11, before seven straight points by the Lancers put CBU up, 18-14. California Baptist went on to win the first game, 30-24. The Red Raiders trailed from the start in game two, falling 30-14, and lost in the third game, 30-19.
The Red Raiders were led by Megan Meyer who recorded 12 kills and hit .267 in the final match of her career. Bobbie jean Rich added seven kills while Randa Hulstein recorded six blocks. Rachel Gosselink lofted up 22 assists and had three digs. Janna Bloemendaal finished the match with 15 digs.
Northwestern finished the national championship with a 3-2 overall record and made it to the Elite Eight for just the second time in the program's history. Three seniors played in their final match: Karrisa Davelaar, Megan Meyer and Colette Veldhorst.
