Four Red Raider Volleyball Players Earn National Volleyball Honors

Four Northwestern College volleyball players earned national postseason honors this past season. Kaitlin Beaver, a freshman from Sioux Center, was named to the 14 member all-tournament team at the national tournament. Beaver hit a team-best .285 in the five matches at the championships and was second on the team with 55 kills. She also served a team-best 12 aces, ranked second on the team with 17 blocks and had 47 digs. Beaver was one of just two underclassmen on the 14-member team.

Seniors Megan Meyer and Colette Veldhorst and junior Krista Hibma have earned NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors for 2007.  To be named a scholar athlete a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved junior academic status to qualify.  Northwestern was one of 118 schools to have a representative and there were 272 women named to the prestigious list. Meyer earned the honor of the second consecutive year.
