Feb 5 NAIA Volleyball Championships to be Hosted by Sioux City
The 2008 and 2009 NAIA Volleyball Championships will be hosted by Sioux City as announced by the NAIA Monday afternoon. The Tyson Events Center and the Long Lines Family Recreation Center will serve as the venue for the next two championships.

Rylee Hulstein (Sioux Center, Iowa) has signed letters of intent to continue her volleyball and basketball careers at Northwestern College beginning in the fall of 2008.


Dec 4 Meyer Earns All-American Honors
Megan Meyer earned second team NAIA All-American honors for her play in 2007. The senior from Aplington, Iowa, averaged a team-best 3.7 kills per game and hit .240 for the season.


Dec 3 Four Red Raider Volleyball Players Earn National Volleyball Honors
Four Northwestern College volleyball players earned national postseason honors this past season. Kaitlin Beaver, a freshman from Sioux Center, was named to the 14 member all-tournament team at the national tournament. Seniors Megan Meyer and Colette Veldhorst and junior Krista Hibma have earned NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors for 2007.


Dec 3 Red Raiders Fall to California Baptist; Season Ends With 31-12 Record
The Red Raiders lost to second-seed California Baptist, 3-0, in the quarterfinal round of the 2007 NAIA Volleyball National Championship. With the loss, they close the season with a 31-12 record.


Nov 30 Red Raiders Defeat Columbia; Reach Elite Eight for the Second Time in Program's History
For the second time in the program's history, the Northwestern College volleyball team will play in the Elite Eight as they defeated the seventh seed, Columbia College, 3-2. The Raiders, the 10th seed, advance with a 31-11 overall mark while the host Cougars end their season with a 31-10 record.


Nov 29 Red Raiders Lose to Top-Seeded Fresno Pacific in Pool Play
The Red Raiders lost their final match in pool play to top-seeded Fresno Pacific (Calif.), 3-0. Northwestern drops to 2-1 in pool A but will advance to play in the 10-team single elimination tournament which will begin tomorrow morning at 10:30 am.


Nov 29 Red Raiders Opponent To Be Determined Via Tie-Break
The Red Raiders advanced out of pool play and will play in the 10-team, single elimination tournament at 2007 NAIA Volleyball National Championships. They are scheduled to play at 10:30 am Friday morning. Their opponent, however, has yet to be determined as Campbellsville (Ky.) lost to Mobile (Ala.) late Thursday night to force a three-team playoff Friday morning.


Nov 28 Red Raiders 2-0 in Pool Play After Day One of Volleyball National Championship
The Red Raiders went 2-0 in pool A play on the first day of the 2007 NAIA National Volleyball Championship. This year's event is hosted by Columbia College in Columbia, Mo. Northwestern, seeded 10th in the 20-team field, improved to 30-10 overall and will play top-seed Fresno Pacific tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 pm.


Nov 27 Meyer Earns All-Region Honors
Megan Meyer, a senior outside hitter from Aplington, Iowa, earned all-region volleyball honors for her play this season. Meyer led the Red Raiders in kills (3.6 per game) and ranked second in digs (3.6 per game).


Nov 26 Red Raiders Set to Play at NAIA Volleyball Championship
The Red Raider volleyball team will begin play at the 2007 NAIA Volleyball National Champinship hosted by Columbia College in Columbia, Mo., this week. The games can be heard via the following link: KSOU Radio.


Nov 20 Red Raiders Seeded 10th at NAIA Volleyball Championship
The 2007 NAIA Volleyball National Championship pool assignments and schedule have been announced and the Red Raiders earned the 10th seed in the the 20-team tournament field.


Nov 20 Westenberg Inducted into Iowa Girls' Coaches Association Volleyball Hall-of-Fame
Wayne Westenberg, an assistant coach for the Northwestern College volleyball team, was inducted into the Iowa Girls' Coaches Association Volleyball Hall of Fame. The ceremony took place on November 17 in Carroll, Iowa.


Nov 18 Red Raider Volleyball Team Qualifies for 2007 National Tournament
The Northwestern College volleyball team earned one of the five at-large bids and have qualified for the 2007 NAIA National Volleyball Championship. This year's event will be played in Columbia, Mo., hosted by Columbia College and will begin on Nov. 28. Pool assignments and tournament schedule will be announced tomorrow afternoon.
