The Red Raiders won their seventh straight game with an impressive 3-0 win over Sioux Falls Wednesday night. Northwestern improves to 22-7 overall, 10-3 in the GPAC and continue to be just a game out of first place with three regular season contests left.
Leading 12-8 in game one, the Red Raiders scored the next seven points behind the serving of Delainye Hardersen en route to a 30-17 win. After trailing early in game two, Northwestern took the lead for good at 8-7 and then used another late run to go up 21-15 before winning 30-22. The Red Raiders led from start to finish in game three and won, 30-16.
Megan Meyer and Bobbie jean Rich led hte Red Raiders with 11 kills each. Kaitlin Beaver and Hillary Hanno added nine and seven respectively. Rachel Gosselink lofted 39 assists in the three games and Janna Bloemendaal led the backrow with 13 digs. Northwestern recorded eight ace serves, two each by Delainy Hardersen and Kaitlin Beaver.
Northwestern will next play Friday night at home against Midland Lutheran.
