Feb 5 NAIA Volleyball Championships to be Hosted by Sioux City
The 2008 and 2009 NAIA Volleyball Championships will be hosted by Sioux City as announced by the NAIA Monday afternoon. The Tyson Events Center and the Long Lines Family Recreation Center will serve as the venue for the next two championships.
Jan 28 Ulferts To Play Volleball at NWC Next Year

Dec 4 Meyer Earns All-American Honors
Megan Meyer earned second team NAIA All-American honors for her play in 2007. The senior from Aplington, Iowa, averaged a team-best 3.7 kills per game and hit .240 for the season.

Dec 3 Four Red Raider Volleyball Players Earn National Volleyball Honors
Four Northwestern College volleyball players earned national postseason honors this past season. Kaitlin Beaver, a freshman from Sioux Center, was named to the 14 member all-tournament team at the national tournament. Seniors Megan Meyer and Colette Veldhorst and junior Krista Hibma have earned NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors for 2007.
Dec 3 Red Raiders Fall to California Baptist; Season Ends With 31-12 Record
The Red Raiders lost to second-seed California Baptist, 3-0, in the quarterfinal round of the 2007 NAIA Volleyball National Championship. With the loss, they close the season with a 31-12 record.
Nov 30 Red Raiders Defeat Columbia; Reach Elite Eight for the Second Time in Program's History
For the second time in the program's history, the Northwestern College volleyball team will play in the Elite Eight as they defeated the seventh seed, Columbia College, 3-2. The Raiders, the 10th seed, advance with a 31-11 overall mark while the host Cougars end their season with a 31-10 record.
Nov 29 Red Raiders Lose to Top-Seeded Fresno Pacific in Pool Play
The Red Raiders lost their final match in pool play to top-seeded Fresno Pacific (Calif.), 3-0. Northwestern drops to 2-1 in pool A but will advance to play in the 10-team single elimination tournament which will begin tomorrow morning at 10:30 am.
Nov 29 Red Raiders Opponent To Be Determined Via Tie-Break
The Red Raiders advanced out of pool play and will play in the 10-team, single elimination tournament at 2007 NAIA Volleyball National Championships. They are scheduled to play at 10:30 am Friday morning. Their opponent, however, has yet to be determined as Campbellsville (Ky.) lost to Mobile (Ala.) late Thursday night to force a three-team playoff Friday morning.

Nov 28 Red Raiders 2-0 in Pool Play After Day One of Volleyball National Championship
The Red Raiders went 2-0 in pool A play on the first day of the 2007 NAIA National Volleyball Championship. This year's event is hosted by Columbia College in Columbia, Mo. Northwestern, seeded 10th in the 20-team field, improved to 30-10 overall and will play top-seed Fresno Pacific tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 pm.

Nov 27 Meyer Earns All-Region Honors
Megan Meyer, a senior outside hitter from Aplington, Iowa, earned all-region volleyball honors for her play this season. Meyer led the Red Raiders in kills (3.6 per game) and ranked second in digs (3.6 per game).
Nov 26 Red Raiders Set to Play at NAIA Volleyball Championship
The Red Raider volleyball team will begin play at the 2007 NAIA Volleyball National Champinship hosted by Columbia College in Columbia, Mo., this week. The games can be heard via the following link: KSOU Radio.
Nov 20 Red Raiders Seeded 10th at NAIA Volleyball Championship
The 2007 NAIA Volleyball National Championship pool assignments and schedule have been announced and the Red Raiders earned the 10th seed in the the 20-team tournament field.

Nov 20 Westenberg Inducted into Iowa Girls' Coaches Association Volleyball Hall-of-Fame
Wayne Westenberg, an assistant coach for the Northwestern College volleyball team, was inducted into the Iowa Girls' Coaches Association Volleyball Hall of Fame. The ceremony took place on November 17 in Carroll, Iowa.
Nov 18 Red Raider Volleyball Team Qualifies for 2007 National Tournament
The Northwestern College volleyball team earned one of the five at-large bids and have qualified for the 2007 NAIA National Volleyball Championship. This year's event will be played in Columbia, Mo., hosted by Columbia College and will begin on Nov. 28. Pool assignments and tournament schedule will be announced tomorrow afternoon.
Nov 17 Red Raiders Advance to Regional Final
Northwestern College defeated seventh-ranked and top-seeded Dickinson State, 30-24, in a one-game playoff to advance to the regional final. Game time for the championship match will be at 7:00 pm.

Nov 17 Red Raiders Fall in Regional Final; Gosselink
The Red Raiders fall in the regional championship, 3-1, to second seeded National American. Individual game scores were 30-22, 28-30, 30-21 and 30-24... Rachel Gosselink lofted up 52 assists and in the process became the Red Raiders' single seaon record holder with 1,693 assists. The old record of 1,658 was held by Kristi De Boer and set in 1992.

Nov 17 Red Raiders to Play National American for the Regional Championship; will be Webcast
The Northwestern College Red Raiders will face in the NAIA Region III Volleyball Tournament championship against 11th-ranked National American at 7:00pm at the Sioux Falls Christian gymnasium. The game can be heard over the NWC webcast...the tiebreak match this morning was not available due to phone line issues at the site but those have been resolved.
Nov 16 Northwestern Defeats Dickinson State; Advance to Tie-Break Match Tomorrow
The Red Raiders, needing a win to keep their season alive, accomplished just that as they knocked off seventh-ranked and top-seed Dickinson State, 3-0, in the final match of pool play at the regional tournament. With the win, Northwestern is now 28-9 overall and more importantly, improves to 1-1 in pool A.

Nov 16 Red Raiders Fall in First Match of Regionals
The Red Raiders lost to Dordt College, 3-1, in the first match at the 2007 NAIA Regional Tournament, hosted by Sioux Falls Christian High School. Northwestern, the fourth seed in the six-team field, will next play number one seed Dickinson State at approximately 5:00 pm.

Nov 15 Red Raiders to Play in Regional Tournament
The Red Raider volleyball team will play in the 2007 NAIA Regional Tournament this weekend in Sioux Falls, S.D. Northwestern is seeded fourth in the six-team field and are pooled with top-seeded Dickinson State and fifth-seed Dordt College. They will open against the Defenders on Friday, Nov. 16, at 9:00 am and will then play the Blue Hawks at 5:00 pm.

Nov 12 Red Raiders Fall in GPAC Volleyball Championship
The Red Raiders lost in the championship game of the GPAC tournament to Morningside, 3-0. Northwestern falls to 27-8 overall while Morningside improves to 33-2 on the season. Both teams will move on and play in the upcoming regional tournament next weekend (Nov. 16-17) at Sioux Falls Christian.
Nov 12 Red Raiders Seeded Fourth in Region III Tournament
The Red Raiders have earned the fourth seed in the upcoming Region III tournament which will be played this weekend (Nov. 16-17) at Sioux Falls Christian High School. Northwestern, with a 27-8 overall record, is paired with top-seeded Dickinson State and fifth-seed Dordt in pool A. The other three teams, second-seed National American, third seeded Morningside and sixth-seed Hastings are in pool B.

Nov 9 Red Raiders Advance to the GPAC Finals with 3-0 Win Over Hastings
The Red Raiders defeated Hastings, 3-0, in the semifinals of the GPAC Volleyball Tournament. Northwestern, seeded second in the eight-team field, advances to their second consecutive conference final where they fill face top-seeded Morningside in Sioux City on Saturday night.

Megan Meyer (Aplington, Iowa) heads a list of six Red Raider volleyball players who earned league postseason honors. Head Coach Kyle Van Den Bosch, in his third year at NWC, earned GPAC Coach-of-the-Year honors...

Nov 6 Meyer Earns GPAC/Regional Honors
Megan Meyer, a senior from Aplington, Iowa, earned both GPAC and Regional Player-of-the-Week honors for her play last week. It is the second time that Meyer has earned the honor this season.

Nov 5 Raider Volleyball Team Sweeps Concordia in GPAC Quarterfinals
The Red Raiders swept Concordia, 3-0, in the quarterfinals of the GPAC Volleyball Tournament. Second seeded Northwestern improves to 26-7 overall and will host #3 Hastings on Wednesday night at 7:30 pm.

Nov 1 Red Raiders Seeded Second in GPAC Tournament
The Red Raiders earned the second seed in the upcoming GPAC Postseason Volleyball Tournament which will begin Saturday, Nov. 3. Northwestern finished the regular season with a 13-3 league record and just one game in back of first place Morningside. They will host the seventh seed, Concordia, on Saturday at 7:30 pm in one of four quarterfinal matches. Northwestern is 25-7 overall.
Oct 31 Red Raiders Defeat Dordt, 3-2, in Volleyball Classic
The Red Raiders defeated Dordt College, 3-2, in the final regular season match for both teams. Individual game scores were 30-26, 23-30, 30-28, 28-30 and 15-8. With the win, Northwestern finishes the regular season at 13-3 and in second place in the final GPAC standings. They will be the second seed in the upcoming GPAC tournament which begins on Saturday, Nov. 3. NWC is 25-7 overall.
Oct 30 Raider Volleyball Team Closes Regular Season Against Dordt
The Red Raiders take on rival Dordt College in the final match of the regular season. Both teams are ranked in the top 25 and have won their last nine matches. Northwestern is 24-7 overall, ranked 17th in last week's poll and in second place in the league with a 12-3 record. The Dordt Defenders are ranked 11th in the last rating, are 30-6 overall and 11-4 in the GPAC standings. The JV match is set for 6:00 pm, followed by the varsity match at 7:30 pm.
Oct 29 Raider Volleyball Team Sweeps Weekend Matches
The Red Raider volleyball team swept both of their matches this past weekend as they defeated Midland Lutheran and Dana by 3-0 margins. NWC has now won nine consecutive matches and improve to 12-3 in the GPAC, 23-7 overall, with one regular season match to play.
Oct 26 Raider Volleyball Team Hosts Midland Lutheran, Dana, This Weekend
Northwestern plays host to Midland Lutheran and Dana this weekend in their final home games of the regular season. The Red Raiders play the Warriors on Friday night at 7:30 pm and will face Dana on Saturday night for Parent's/Senior night at 7:30 pm. NWC carries a seven match win streak with them into this weekend and are 22-7 overall. Midland Lutheran is 12-16 overall and Dana is 8-22.
Oct 24 Red Raiders Win Seventh Straight, Defeat USF 3-0
The Red Raiders won their seventh straight game with an impressive 3-0 win over Sioux Falls Wednesday night. Northwestern improves to 22-7 overall, 10-3 in the GPAC and continue to be just a game out of first place with three regular season contests left.
Oct 23 Meyer, Gosselink Earn GPAC Volleyball Honors
Megan Meyer and Rachel Gosselink earned league honors after they helped lead the Red Raiders to three road wins last week.

Oct 23 Red Raiders Host USF in GPAC Volleyball
he Red Raiders will try to extend their six game win streak tonight as they play host to USF in a GPAC volleyball contetst. Northwestern, ranked 18th in last week's NAIA poll, is 21-7 overall, 9-3 overall and are just one game out of first place in the league standings. USF is 19-13 overall, 4-8 in the GPAC and are tied with Midland Lutheran for the final spot in the upcoming GPAC tournament.
Oct 21 Red Raiders Defeat Doane, 3-2, in GPAC Volleyball
Northwestern won their sixth straight game and third consecutive road game as they knocked off Doane, 3-2. The Red Raiders improve to 9-3 in the league, 21-7 overall and trail first place Morningside and Hastings by just one game.
Oct 19 Big Weekend Ahead for Red Raider Volleyball Team
The Red Raider volleyball team will play in a  pair of big league matches this weeked as they travel to Morningside Friday night, followed by a trip to Crete, Neb., to play Doane on Saturday.

Oct 19 Red Raiders Knock Off #12 Morningside, 3-1
18 Northwestern defeated #12 Morningside, 3-1, in a GPAC showdown of ranked teams. Individual game scores were: 30-18, 29-31, 30-26 and 30-19. The Red Raiders improve to 20-7 overall, 8-3 in the GPAC while Morningside drops to 10-2 in the league, 26-2 overall.
Oct 18 NWC Defeats Briar Cliff, 3-0, in GPAC Volleyball Match
The Red Raiders defeated Briar Cliff, 3-0, in a GPAC volleyball match played last night in Sioux City, Iowa. Individual game scores were: 31-29, 30-23 and 30-21.

Oct 17 Raider Volleyball Team Plays Second Place Briar Cliff
Northwestern travles to Sioux City this evening to take on Briar Cliff in a GPAC volleyball showdown. The Red Raiders are 18-7 overall, 6-3 in the GPAC, and moved up to 18th in this week's NAIA rating. Briar Cliff is also 18-7 overall but are tied for second in the GPAC with an 8-2 mark.
Oct 11 Red Raiders Sweep Past Mount Marty in GPAC Volleyball
The Red Raiders defeated Mount Marty, 3-0, in GPAC volleyball action last night in the Bultman Center. Northwestern won their third straight match and improved to 18-7 overall, 6-3 in the GPAC.
Oct 10 Red Raiders Host Mount Marty in GPAC Volleyball
The 19th-ranked Red Raiders host Mount Marty in a GPAC volleyball contest at the Bultman Center on Wednesday, Oct. 10. The JV match begins at 6:00 pm and will be followed by the varsity at 7:30.

Oct 8 Red Raiders Sweep Past Weekend Foes
The Red Raiders swept past both Dakota Wesleyan and Nebraska Wesleyan this weekend in GPAC volleyball action. They improve to 5-3 in the GPAC, 17-7 overall.

Oct 5 Northwestern and Dakota Wesleyan Take the Court Tonight in Volleyball
Northwestern and Dakota Wesleyan will play tonight in GPAC Volleyball at 7:30 p.m. in Orange City. Northwestern comes in with a 15-7 overall record and is 3-3 in the GPAC while DWU comes in 6-13 overall and 2-5 in conference play.
Oct 4 Red Raiders Fall to Dordt in GPAC Volleyball
The Northwestern volleyball team lost to Dordt College, 3-0, in GPAC action last night in the Bultman Center. Individual game scores were: 30-26, 30-23 and 30-28. The Red Raiders, ranked 16th in this week's NAIA poll, falls to 3-3 in the GPAC and 15-7 overall. Dordt improves to 3-4 in the GPAC, 22-6 overall.

The Red Raider volleyball team  split their conference matches over the weekend as they defeated Concordia 3-1 but fell to Hastings, 3-0. They are now 15-6 overall this season, 3-2 in the GPAC.

The Red Raider volleyball team begins an important weekend this evening as they travel to Seward, Neb., to play Concordia University, followed by a match-up against Hastings on Saturday night.

Sep 27 NWC Rolls Past USF in GPAC Volleyball Action
Northwestern won their fourth consecutive match with a 3-0 win at USF last night. Individual game scores were 30-22, 30-11 and 30-20. With the win, the Red Raiders improve to 14-5 overall, 2-1 in the conference.
Sep 25 NWC Volleyball Team Heads to USF for Conference Play
The 15th-ranked Red Raiders begin a series of three straight conference matches on the road as they travel to USF to take on the Cougars. Northwestern is 13-5 overall this season, 1-1 in the GPAC, while USF is 11-6 overall, 2-1 in the GPAC.

The 15th-ranked Red Raiders will compete at the Dordt College Volleyball Invitational this Friday, Sept. 21, in Sioux Center. NWC will play just on the first day of the classic and will face William Penn (4:30 pm) and Grand View (7:30 pm).

Sep 19 Red Raiders Take Out St. Mary's in Three Games
Northwestern defeated College of St. Mary in three straight games, 30-20, 30-28 and 30-24. Randa Hulstein and Karrisa Davelaar each recorded 12 kills to lead NWC.

Sep 18 Red Raiders Host CSM in Non-Conference Volleyball Action
The Red Raiders play host to the College of Saint Mary Flames this evening in non-conference volleyball action. Northwestern, ranked 24th, is 10-5 overall while CSM enters the match with a 7-8 mark. The match is set to begin at 7:30 pm.
Sep 17 Red Raiders Post a 3-1 Record at the Hastings Tournament
The 24th-ranked Red Raiders posted a 3-1 match record this past weekend at the Hastings Tournament. Northwestern defeated Park University (Mo.)and #25 U. of Texas-Brownsville by 3-1 scores Friday night. On Saturday, they defeated Central Methodist (Mo.) 3-0 and then lost a five-game battle with defending champion and fourth-ranked National American (S.D.), 3-2.

Sep 14 Northwestern Volleyball at Hastings for Weekend
The Northwestern College volleyball team will resume play after a week off to compete in the Hastings Tournament this Friday and Saturday, Sept. 14-15.
Sep 10 Red Raiders Defeat Bellevue 3-0 in Battle of Ranked Teams
The 21st-ranked Red Raiders defeated #22 Bellevue University (Neb.) by the final score of 3-0 in a non-conference match Saturday night. Individual game scores were 30-24, 30-18 and 30-26.

Sep 7 NWC Hosts Bellevue in a Battle of Ranked Teams
The Red Raiders host #22 Bellevue (Neb.) on Saturday, Sept. 8, in the Bultman Center at 5:00 pm. The Bruins will be the third oppenent ranked in the top 25 that NWC has faced this season (#2 Concordia (Calif.) and #3 Cal. Baptist). Northwestern was ranked 21st in this week's poll.
Sep 6 Red Raiders Fall to Morningside in Five-Set Thriller
The Northwestern College volleyball team lost their first conference game of the season as they dropped a five-set thriller to Morningside, 3-2. Individual game scores were 30-19, 26-30, 30-22, 26-30 and 15-10. The Red Raiders fall to 6-4 overall, 1-1 in the GPAC, while Morningside improves to 10-0, 2-0 in the GPAC.
Sep 5 Raiders to Host Undefeated Morningside in GPAC Volleyball Action
The Mustangs are off to their best start in school history with a 9-0 record. Last weekend, Morningside dropped just one game in four matches at the Embry-Riddle Labor Day Tourney, winning the championship match with a 3-0 win over Trevacca Nazarene.
Sep 3 Red Raider Volleyball Team Wraps Up West Coast Trip
The Red Raider volleyball team concluded their west coast trip to California with a 1-3 overall record. NWC returns home with a 6-3 overall record and will play host to undefeated Morningside on Wednesday, Sept. 5 at 7:30 pm.
Aug 31 Red Raider volleyball team heads west For tournament action
The Red Raider volleyball team play in the Concordia Tournament (Calif.) this weekend in Irvine. They will have an extremely competitive bracket, however, as two of the teams they play are ranked in the top five and reached the Final Four in 2006.

The Red Raiders defeated Dakota Wesleyan 3-0 in Mitchell, S.D. in the GPAC opener for both teams.

Aug 25 Northwestern wins two more matches to improve to 4-0
Northwestern stayed unbeaten this fall as they won two more matches in the Northwestern Red Raider Classic.  The Raiders have not lost a game yet, winning all four matches three games to zero; today's victims were Peru State and Waldorf.
Aug 24 Volleyball goes 2-0 on day one of Red Raider Classic
Northwestern started the season off on the right foot, taking the first match of the season three games to zero (30-17, 30-22, 30-27) over Valley City State.

Aug 13 NWC Volleyball Team Begins Practice
The Red Raider volleyball team held their first practice of the 2007 season Monday morning in the Bultman Center. Approximately 20 players went through some fitness testing and individual skill work under the direction of third-year Head Coach Kyle van den Bosch and his coaching staff.
