Northwestern College track and field athletes concluded the 2017 NAIA Indoor Championships with seven more All-American performances this afternoon in Johnson City, Iowa. Red Raider athletes finished in the top eight (All-American) in a total of nine events this weekend.
All six Red Raider individuals who competed in the finals today earned All-American honors. Tim Rose was the first to compete and finished fourth in the mile with a new school record time of 4:13.7, just 1.5 seconds in back of the national champion, Jackson Thomas (Bacone). Rose took home the national honor last year as a member of the 4x800.
Rebekah Muilenburg finished fifth in the 600m finals, earning All-American honors for the second consecutive year. The sophomore crossed the finish line with a time of 1:37, just three seconds in back of the national champion, Taylor Needham of Southwestern (Kan.). Muilenburg also finished fifth at last year's national championship and was an All-American as a member of the 4x800 relay team that finished fourth on Friday.
Aaron Lemon earned All-American honors with an eighth place finish in the 600m, crossing the finish line with a time of 1:21.28. Lemon finished less than four seconds behind the champion, Tre Hinds (Wayland Baptist).
Katie Landuis turned in the Red Raiders top finish of the weekend, placing second in the 800m with a school record time of 2:14.23. Landhuis, who placed ninth at last year's championship, was also a member of the Red Raiders' All-American 4x800 team.
Peter Hollinger placed sixth in the men's 800m with a time of 1:54.82, just over two seconds in back of the champion, Presley Martin (Marian), and earned All-American honors. Hollinger took home the national honor last year as a member of the 4x800 relay.
Katie Bosch was the final Red Raider to earn All-American honors as an individual, placing fourth in the 1000m with a time of 2:56. Adri Sigafoose (Aquinas) won the event with a time of 2:50.
The men's distance medley team crossed the finish line in eighth place and took home the final All-American honor for the Red Raiders. The team of Rose, Hollinger, Levi TeBrink and Tanner Goetsch finished with a time of 10:40.
