JacobsNicole Jacobs (Hawarden, Iowa) has signed letters of intent to continue her volleyball and track and field careers at Northwestern College next fall.

Jacobs is a 5’4” outside hitter/defensive specialist who played four years for the West Sioux volleyball program. She earned second team all-conference honors after averaging 2.5 kills and 3.5 digs per set last season. Jacobs served 93% and totaled 30 aces. She also earned honorable mention all-conference honors in 2008. A member of the National Honor Society and high honor roll, Jacobs plans to major in biology at Northwestern.

“We are excited to have Nicole join the Red Raider volleyball program,” commented Head Coach Kyle Van Den Bosch. “She possesses outstanding quickness and is a very good athlete. Nicole had a very good high school career and we look forward to watching her continue her volleyball career at Northwestern.”

Jacobs earned four letters as a sprinter and jumper for the West Sioux track and field squad. She qualified for state two consecutive years as a member of the 4x800 relay team. Jacobs boasts personals bests of 60.9 seconds in the 400m, 2:26 in the 800m and 16’5” in the long jump. She is the daughter of George and Becky.

“Nicole is a versatile athlete who will compete well for us in the 400-800m as well as the long jump,” commented head track and field coach Nate Wolf. “I am excited that she will join our program and look for her to contribute immediately.”
