Norris Earns Academic All-American Honors

Will Norris earned CoSIDA Academic All-American College Division honors as announced by the national office earlier today. 

Norris, a junior from Spirit Lake, Iowa who has a 3.85 GPA with a student initiated major, was named to the 10-member second team. 

Nominated by the school's head coach and sports information director, athletes who are sophomore, junior or senior, have a 3.3 GPA and are a significant contributor on their team are eligible for the honor. All nominations are then voted upon by the SID's that belong to CoSIDA to earn all-district honors and then voted upon by the national All-American committee.

Norris finished 11th in the 5K at the 2016 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championship held in Gulf Shores, Ala. in late May. The junior won the GPAC Championship in both the 5K and 10K this outdoor season and finished 10th in the 3K at the NAIA Indoor National Championships earlier this year. Norris is also a two-time qualifier for nationals in cross country. 

The CoSIDA College Division Academic All-America® volleyball teams are comprised of student-athletes from NAIA, Canadian and two-year institutions.
