Katie Raab (Lanark, Ill.) and Brandon Schuler (Atlantic, Iowa) have signed letters of intent to continue their track and field careers at Northwestern College next year.
Raab is a 5’2” sprinter who lettered for the Eastland High School track and field team. She was named her team’s most valuable runner as a junior. An outstanding student who is a member of the National Honor Society, Raab plans to major in pediatric nursing at Northwestern. She is the daughter of Brian and Pam.
“Katie will have a positive impact on both the NWC campus and our team,” commented head track and field coach Nate Wolf. “She will provide depth in the sprints and relays for our squad. I look forward to working with her next season.”
Schuler is a 6’2” middle-distance runner who lettered four years for the Atlantic High School track and field team. He is a four-time state qualifier as a member of the 4x800m relay and also qualified for state in the open 800m. Schuler earned honorable mention all-conference accolades and boasts personal bests of 2:00 in the 800m and 52.5 in the 400m. Schuler is a member of the National Honor Society and is the son of Rodney and Michelle.
“Brandon is an all-around good athlete,” commented Wolf. “He has great potential in the 800m and will provide immediate depth and competition in our mid-distance crew.”
