Several members of the Northwestern College track and field team earned NAIA Scholar Athlete Honors for the 2008 season. 12 Red Raider athletes, seven women and five men, carried a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better and have junior or senior status. Kyle Blankers, Josh Earleywine, Jon Woehl, Laura Jacobson and Amanda Schwieger earned the academic honor for the second straight year. Lori Wolf, Ingrid Carlson, Teryn DeHaan, Sarah Earleywine, Sarah Storm, Lori Wolf, Jameson Guthmiller and Dan Walhof received the honor for the first time.
To be honored as a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must be a junior or senior academically and have a minimum 3.5 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.
