Derrious Johnson (Newbury Park, Calif.) has signed a letter of intent to continue his track and field career at Northwestern College next year. Earlier this year, he also signed a letter of intent to play football for the Red Raiders.
Johnson is a 6’1” sprinter and jumper who lettered three years for the Moorpark High School track and field team. He earned all-league honors as a senior and was voted as the most valuable jumper by his teammates two straight years. Johnson boasts personal bests of 21’4” in the long jump, 42’10” in the triple jump and 11.3 in the 100m dash. He plans to major in computer science at Northwestern and is the son of Robert Sr. and Michelle.
“Derrious is a quality athlete with great potential,” commented head track and field coach Nate Wolf. “I am looking forward to his contributions to our program over the next four years.”
