Kiley Murra (Schaller, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to play basketball and participate in track and field at Northwestern College next year.
Murra is a 6’5”, 230-pound post player who lettered four seasons for Schaller-Crestland High School. He earned second team all-conference honors as a senior and was named honorable mention his sophomore year. Murra helped lead his team to a 9-11 record in 2008. A member of the honor roll, Murra plans to major in agri-business at Northwestern.
“Kiley has tremendous size and strength with a soft shooting touch,” commented Head Coach Kris Korver. “We look forward to having Kiley join our program this fall.”
Murra placed second in the shot put and sixth in the discus this past spring at the Iowa High School State track and field meet. As a junior, he finished fourth in both events at state and boasts personal bests of 54’1” in the shot and 158’2” in the discus. Murra is the son of Bill and Marilyn.
“Kiley is a great addition to our team,” commented Head Coach Nate Wolf. “He is an outstanding athlete that has experienced success at the state level. Kiley has the potential to compete very well at the conference and national levels.”
