Olivia Johnson earned All-American honors at the 2008 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Edwardsville, Ill. The freshman from Milford, Iowa, finished sixth in the 1500m with a time of 4:32.8. Johnson posted the third fastest time in the preliminaries (4:40.32) and finished just over six seconds behind the national champion (Jamie Canterbury from Azusa Pacific). Johnson also earned All-American honors in the mile and distance medley events during the indoor season.
In other track and field news at nationals, Michael Ortmeier finished 10th in the decathlon with a total of 6007 points. Logan Ogden placed 16th in the shot put with a toss of 47-01 and Jon Woehl placed 32nd in the marathon with a time of 2:46:37. Kaitlin Beaver tied for 17th in the high jump with a leap of 5-03.
