Shannon Bowar (Faulkton, S.D.) has signed a letter of intent to continue her track and field career at Northwestern College next year.
Bowar is a 5’6” sprinter/hurdler who lettered five seasons for Faulkton High School. She qualified for state five years and was a member of the 2007 Class B Girls State Track Championship team. Bowar earned Athlete-of-the-Week honors this past year and was voted Most Valuable Runner her sophomore year. She has personal bests of 15.85 in the 100m hurdles and 48.85 in the 300m hurdles. An honor roll student, Bowar plans to major in exercise science/pre-physical therapy at Northwestern. She is the daughter of Ron and Susan.
“I’m excited Shannon has decided to come to Northwestern and join our track and field program,” commented Head Coach Nate Wolf. “She has the potential to be a very good college hurdler and sprinter.”
