The Northwestern track and field squads completed competition at the Doane Relays this past weekend and two athletes and one relay team headline the list of top performances. Charity Miles, Olivia Johnson and the women's 4x800 relay team all qualified for the NAIA National Meet in their respective events. Miles established a new meet record and won the 10,000m with a time of 38:27.9, 27 seconds ahead of the second place runner from Bethel College. Johnson placed second in the 800m with a time of 2:14.55 and qualified for nationals in her second event of the outdoor season. The 4x800 relay team consisting of Laura Jacobson, Steph Powell, Lori Wolf and Olivia Johnson finished first with a time of 9:27.7.
In total, eight women's entries and nine men's entries placed in the top five at the relays. Laura Jacobson won the 400m dash with a time of 58.97, just 1.5 seconds shy of the NAIA qualifying mark. Steph Powell placed fourth in the 1500m run with a time of 5:04.41 and Breann Rozeboom finished third in the 5000m with a time of 19:42. Two NWC hurdlers placed fourth in the 100m high and 400m hurdle events. Emily DeWeerd crossed the line in 16:08 in the 100m highs while Jess Regan placed fourth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:06.67.
On the men's side, Tyler Peekenschneider and Jack Peterson placed third and fifth, respectively, in the 1500m with times of 4:12.18 and 4:15.12. In the 10,000m, Jon Woehl and Anthony Ebert finished third and fourth with times of 34:19.9 and 34:42.2, respectively. Steve Westerkamp crossed the line in fourth place with a time of 50.03 in the 400m dash. Kyle Blankers finished fifth in the 100m dash with a time of 11:33. Danny Owens also finished in fifth place in the 5000m with a time of 16:33.77. Kyle Sauter placed third in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15:15 and the 4x100 team placed second with a time of 43:29.
The Red Raiders will next compete at the USF Invite and Drake Relays this weekend.

The women's 4x800 relay team took first and qualified for nationals with a time of 9:27.7.
In men's action, Danny Owens placed fifth in the 5000m with a time of 16:33.77. Jon Woehl and Anthony Ebert placed third and fourth in the 10,000m with times of 34:19.9 and 34:42.2, respectively.
