Three individuals and one relay team earned All-American honors at the 2008 NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Johnson City, Tenn. Senior Laura Jacobson (Galva, Iowa) placed third in the finals of the 1000m run with a time of 2:59.21 which earned All-American status. She came into the finals seeded fifth with a time of 2:59.7. Freshman Olivia Johnson (Milford, Iowa) crossed the line in third place with a time of 4:56.067 to earn All-American honors. Johnson was seeded seventh after the prelims but knocked off nearly 10 seconds off her time in the finals. Charity Miles, a freshman from Thedford, Neb., finished third in the 5000m with a time of 17:24.107 and also earned All-American honors. Miles was seeded second heading into the finals and ran just over 28 seconds faster than her preliminary time in the finals.
The distance medley team placed fifth in the finals, crossing the finish line in 12:16.36, and earned All-American status. Team members include Laura Jacobson, Jess Regan (Council Bluffs, Iowa), Stephanie Powell (Columbus, Neb.) and Olivia Johnson. All individuals and relay teams that place in the top six in their respective event earn NAIA All-American status.
In the women's high jump, Kaitlin Beaver finished tied for 10th place out of 30 entries. The freshman from Sioux Center cleared 5-03 and tied an athlete from Notre Dame College.
As a team, Northwestern finished tied for ninth place with Doane (Neb.) and Fresno Pacific (Calif.) with 20 points. Wayland Baptist edged out Azusa Pacific for the team title, 71-70.
