Northwestern held a 1-0 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh inning in game two but Bellevue scored a pair of runs off three hits, the final coming off a two-out, bases-loaded single by Alyssa Matoba to earn the come-from-behind win.
Katie Vande Voort picked up the loss on the mound and dropped her record to 5-3 on the season. The junior cruised through the first five innings and allowed just six hits and two earned runs in 6.2 innings. Vande Voort struck out three and walked three.
Northwestern totaled nine hits and scored its run in the fifth inning. Tiffany Bakarich smacked a one-out double to leftfield, advanced to third on an infield single by Jillian Kleinhesselink and scored on a single by Claire Ipema. Northwestern totaled nine hits, led by Kleinhesselink with three and Alex Price with two. They left seven runners on base for the game.
The Red Raiders managed just one hit off Bruins pitcher Amanda Neumann in its 7-0 game one loss to the Bruins. Sophomore Kara Nonnemacher hit a two-out triple in the third inning and was the only base runner for NWC throughout seven innings. She was left stranded after Kleinhesselink lined out to the shortstop to end the inning.
Keely Bracelin suffered the loss on the mound but was just as effective as her pitching counterpart over the first five innings. The junior pitched the first 5.2 innings and gave up all seven runs in the sixth inning before being replaced by Kayla Foresman. Bracelin walked six and struck out four to fall to 3-8 on the year.
Bellevue was led by Neumann, who gave up the one hit and struck out nine. She also went 2-for-4 at the plate with three RBIs.
