Emily Archer (Varina, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue her softball career at Northwestern next fall.
Archer has played four years for the Newell-Fonda High School softball team heading into her final season this summer. Archer hit .252 with 24 runs scored and 12 RBIs in leading her team to a fourth-place finish at the 2016 state tournament. Also a letter winner in both basketball and track and field, Archer plans to major in accounting at Northwestern. She is the daughter of Chris and Stephanie.
“We are thrilled to have Emily join our program,” said Northwestern head coach Chris Nachtigall. “She is a quality player who has been part of successful high school teams. Emily will have a positive impact on both our program and Northwestern campus community.”
