Three Northwestern College softball players earned all-conference honors as announced by the GPAC office earlier today.
Clare Ipema (Merrillville, Ind.) was the lone Red Raider on the second team. A four-year starter, Ipema hit .333 with 26 runs and seven RBIs. The senior ranked third in the GPAC with 24 RBIs and closed her career with 95 stolen bases, tied for second most all-time in program history. Now a two-time all-conference selection, Ipema earned first team accolades in 2014.
Two Red Raiders, Mons Figueroa and Jessica Rayela, were named honorable mention. Figueroa, a junior catcher from Rock Valley, ranked third on the team with a .324 average, totaling 33 hits in 102 at-bats. She had four home runs, 18 RBIs and scored 19 runs on the year. Rayela, a junior third baseman from Chino Hills, Calif., hit a team-best .353 while ranking 10th in the GPAC with 30 runs scored. Rayela also ranked among the GPAC's top 10 in doubles (15), triples (3) and home runs (7).
Northwestern ended the season with a 20-29 overall record.
